About

I was born in Durban, South Africa. I was the first in my generation to attend university and graduate with a Bachelors of Science in Aeronautical Engineering. I worked 2 jobs to pay for my education, with no state or family financial support.

Upon graduation, I was immediately offered a role at Luminous Accounting as a Junior Software Engineer, focusing on SQL queries and operational support. I was gratelful for the opportunity as it helped me settle much of my mass of student load debt.

Eventually I made my way to my role as Digital Business Analyst at Discovery, South Africa's largest private healthcare insurance provider. I really got into working in Agile, with cross-functional teams and a high-profile website redesign initiative based on the - then revolutionary - Bootstrap framework of mobile-first design.

But South Africa is not a safe place to work and live, and I made the move to London. I really found my passion in my career at various fantastic, challenging and rewarding roles at QVC, the multi-cultural and forward-thinking ANDigital agency and Expedia.

Finally, the freelance bug bit me and I decided to start up on my own where I could focus my skills more on building cool, quality, scalable product at my clients; and focus less on politics and unnecessary, rigid processes.
